The New Mexico Science Olympiad is the state-level tournament for competition of all qualifying teams and the regional level. New Mexico Science Olympiad winners, in both B & C divisions, advance to the National Science Olympiad.
The State Tournament was held on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at New Mexico Tech, Socorro, New Mexico.
KMS brought home 16 medals and took 17th place out of 24 teams that qualified.
The New Mexico Science Bowl is a jeopardy-like event, for high and middle school students who have a strong interest and academic ability in mathematics and science. The Science Bowl competition is in form of a round robin in the morning and double elimination after lunch. Teams consist of four students and one optional alternative member.
