We send our students off for safe spring break. Our pep rally went well and we were able to celebrate the programs we offer. Student Council is one program we have been able to implement during my tenure at Kennedy and when you give students empowerment, they rise to occasion. Thank you to our Student Council President and officers for creating and running the show!!!!!! Thank you to programs such as AVID, Drama, Band, and Orchestra for the performances and presentations. Thank you to our Coaches, Coach Williams and Coach Ramirez, who introduced and presented our sports programs!

We are a community and we are Kennedy Strong!!!

Kennedy News

The Manzano Ladies Soccer program will be hosting two separate soccer related events this summer, and I wanted to make you aware of them. I am hoping you can pass this information to interested kids in your school either through announcement, your parent blog etc.
This year we will be hosting the "Olympic Madness 4 v 4" Tournament (Absolutely Free – Total Madness!!) in June and July for any interested Girls 4th through 8th grade (See flyer). While the coaches of Manzano have been providing mini 3v3 open play for kids during the summer for many years, last year Manzano hosted the “World Cup Madness 3 v 3 Tournament” - which was a roaring success (40 girls)! The team hopes to further expand the size of the tournament again this year. This grass-roots event is our teams’ way of giving back to the local community and providing opportunities for more kids to play soccer. We have found that many of the children in our area simply do not have the financial ability to pay for the ever increasing fees of most soccer clubs and tournaments. It is hoped that by providing this playing opportunity, without any expense to their families, the young girls will make sports an integral part of their life.
The Manzano Ladies Soccer Program will also be hosting a “Mini-Monarch Summer Soccer Camp” for any interested boys or girls, 1st through 8th grade, June 6th-10th (See Flyer). We encourage any and all kids to come out and enjoy the summer weather, the full size Manzano grass soccer fields, and a great soccer curriculum. They will improve their foot skills, touch and shooting accuracy, learn the move-of-the-day, plus have lots of fun playing the great game of soccer!! The week includes the “Olympic Games” with the finals be held at the end of the week.
I have attached the flyers and camp registration with additional details. If you could pass this information to your students (and parents) I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance for your support of our soccer program and the community. If there are any additional questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
For the love of the game,
Todd Alam
